Given the whole debacle that is Apple iOS 6 Maps that replace Google Maps within iOS 6 and the laughing mishaps that seemed to have taken over the internet ever since the release of Apple’s iOS 6 a few months back with sites such as amazing iOS 6 maps on tumblr
It’s no wonder that there had been rumours circulating that whether Google would end up building an app from scratch to fill in the void that had been missing for seemed like years to some who relied heavily on Google maps on their iPhones.
The Google Maps App for iOS is finally here. You will be glad to know that Google has definitely stepped up to the plate and developed an app for Apple’s app store (iTunes link).
On first impressions it seems like a worthy replacement and nice clean layout however still too early to give a complete judgement on just good this app will function.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the review, once I have taken the app for a real world test. In the meantime navigate your iPads, iPhones and iPods over to the Official Google Maps app page
